Prix Ars Electronica 2013

What do John Lasseter (Pixar Studios’ first animation artist), Sir Tim Berners-Lee (the inventor of HTML) and Wikipedia have in common? They’ve all been awarded by the Prix Ars Electronica.

2013 is the 27th edition of Prix Ars Electronica, so there’s quite some history to look back on. Christine Schöpf, who has been around from the beginning, talks about the not so humble beginnings of the Prix Ars Electronica and discusses the current trends in computer-animation. Read the interview on our blog.

Submit your project till March 8, 2013 and join us in discovering the world's most fascinating, most brilliantly visionary ideas and concepts, and nominating them for the Prix Ars Electronica 2013.

I Mirabilia
Overall Winner 2012

The EYA jury had a hard time selecting the one and only Overall Winner of the European Youth Award 2012. At the Gala Ceremony we finally found out who made the grade:

Congratulations to Erika Rossi and her project I Mirabilia (“The Wonders”), a family of three bright interactive dolls for hospitalised children. The interactions triggered by the dolls are designed to enable the children to share their emotions, connect to other children and confide in therapists.
